Gardner Vaughan Announces Partnership With Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club
As Gardner Vaughan establishes its presence on the Gold Coast, we’re proud to partner with the Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club, an organisation that has played a vital role in the local community for more than a century.
Beyond its iconic beachfront location, the club makes an invaluable contribution to the region, protecting beachgoers and supporting the millions of people who visit the coastline each year.
Club President Cassandra Sedgman highlighted the scale of this responsibility:
“We not only patrol our beach, we are responsible for the tourism, the tourists, the millions of people that put their feet on our beach.”
“We have one of the smallest memberships, but we do more rescues than the other 20 clubs in the Gold Coast put together.”
For Gardner Vaughan Commercial Director Sam Gardner, the partnership reflects a shared belief that building thriving communities goes beyond the physical places we create.
“It’s not just about building buildings. For us, it’s about creating a place, it’s about creating a sense of belonging, and part of that is connecting with local bodies such as the Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club who share our values.”
The Inspiration Behind Bronze
Our connection with the surf club and the coastal lifestyle helped inspire the name of our first Gold Coast development, Bronze, on Chevron Island.
The name pays tribute to the region’s coastal heritage and the dedicated volunteers who earn their Bronze Medallion to help keep our beaches safe.
As Sam explains, the connection between the development, the region and the club was a natural fit:
“Bronze is so very aligned with the Gold Coast and the beaches, and of course our partnership now strengthens that alignment.”
A Long-Term Commitment to the Gold Coast
Bronze marks the beginning of Gardner Vaughan’s journey on the Gold Coast, with a growing pipeline of work reflecting our long-term commitment to the region.
For us, being part of a community means building lasting relationships, supporting local organisations and contributing to the places people call home.
“We have a pipeline of work on the Gold Coast now. We will keep people involved in those communities for years to come… So once we join a community, we’re here for life.”
We look forward to working alongside Cassandra, the club’s members and volunteers to support the important work they do and contribute to the Gold Coast community for years to come.
