The first of its kind

Monterey is an architectural landmark residence that embodies the perfect synergy between design, sustainability and natural beauty.

Standing as a beacon of sustainable innovation, it features a cutting-edge Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) structure. This renewable, high-performance material actively sequesters carbon, dramatically reduces embodied energy, and optimises thermal integrity to create a healthier, more environmentally conscious living environment.

Natural and sustainable

Award winning architects Hayes Anderson Lynch bring to life a design that compliments the riverside lifestyle. This elegant design embodies sustainable principles which truly encompasses Brisbane’s vision for “buildings that breathe”.

The angles and ribboning of the balustrade design in addition to the full height glass maximises the view of the Brisbane River and Story Bridge, looking out to the CBD’s sparkling skyline and beyond to the mountains.

Recessed, shaded balconies are skirted by brass perimeter screens that provide both sun shading and added privacy. At the ground floor, the driveway and services are tucked to one side, giving way to the light filled, glazed lobby.

The ultimate balance

Nestled on the Kangaroo Point Peninsula, a secluded hamlet and a beautiful village precinct, Monterey offers a harmonious fusion of architecture, recreation, tranquility, scenery, and entertainment.

The power of timber

Paying homage to the radiata pine used in historic timber houses across the city, Monterey relies on CLT, a 100% renewable material grown and harvested in Australian forestries. Boasting a strength-to-weight ratio 20% higher than steel and 4–5 times higher than concrete, this non-corrosive material is even known to lower heart rates and reduce stress impacts for a healthier living environment. Across Australian forestry, the timber used in Monterey can be regrown in 27 minutes.

Rooftop and sanctuary relaxation

The rooftop gym overlooks the city, while the Level 1 pool at The Sanctuary provides a quieter place to relax. Together, these spaces offer a balance between activity and downtime, made for every pace of life.

Gateway to Brisbane

Kangaroo Point places first-class lifestyle destinations right within reach, from local tree-lined streets, Mowbray Park, and Raymond Park, to the Kangaroo Point Cliffs. The CBD is easily accessible via the Story Bridge and newly built Green Bridge, and top-tier retail and dining hubs, like Eagle Street Pier, James Street, Howard Smith Wharves, and Queens Wharf, are just a short ferry ride, bus, or drive away.

A building that breathes

Living at Monterey – a building that breathes – is a statement in luxury and sustainability. With unique house-like proportions, Monterey offers expansive living at its best. The north- facing position affords the luxury of beautiful breezes and picturesque views in a unique boutique environment.

The Gardner Vaughan
Difference

Our legacy

Every Gardner Vaughan home is a permanent mark of our standards. We think carefully about where we build, who we build for, and what we leave behind. South East Queensland is our home. The communities we develop are ones we’re genuinely invested in. Not just for now, but for the generations that follow.

Our approach

We build what we design and we stand behind what we build. As a builder-developer, every project moves through one tightly-knit team from first idea to final handover. Built on accountability, care and the conviction that the details matter.

Our commitment

Our relationship with clients doesn’t end at handover. It continues long after they’ve moved in, because we care about more than building a home. We care about the people who call it home. We stay involved, connected and accountable. Because care isn’t something we say. It’s something we show in how we build and how we stand by what we create.
